Downrods for Higher Ceilings

We carry downrods in both 1/2" and 3/4" diameter.  We have downrods as short as 12" to as long 72", with couplers to join either diameter downrod together to make any length needed beyond 72".

Downrods come in any finish needed to match any fan finish we carry.  When ordering a downrod with a fan, we'll automatically ship the downrod in the correct diameter needed for the fan you'll be receiving, taking the guesswork out of what size to order.  If ordering a downrod without buying a ceiling fan, please phone the order in to us to insure you'll be receiving a downrod that'll work with your existing fan.

Choosing a Downrod

The table below is a general guideline for choosing a downrod length. The 3" inch downrod is standard on most fans except for huggers. Any size downrod marked with a small "x" will work with your ceiling height, but our highest recommendation for your ceiling height is highlighted in yellow and marked with a red "X".  Also take into consideration the scale of the room for aesthetic purposes.

Ceiling fan blades should be at least 7' from the floor for safety purposes.
A Hugger type fan or a flush mount kit may be necessary on low ceilings.
