Gulf-Coast Fans revolutionized the way we buy fans. Rather than going into the mass market retailers such as Lowes and Home Depot and picking a ceiling fan in the box with a light kit and blades that cannot be changed, Gulf Coast had a better idea. This idea was to allow customers to customize their ceiling fan to exactly what they wanted it to be. This meant packaging blades and lights separately from the motors, so that now you can choose the finish you would like on the ceiling fan's motor, then select the blades that best matches your room or furniture, and then decide whether or not you want to add a light kit. If you choose to add a light kit, you then choose the style light you like for the fan, not what some other designer felt should be your only choice on the ceiling fan. Let's face it, not everyone's taste is the same and Gulf-Coast knew that way before everyone else in the fan industry caught onto the idea. Sure, outside of the large home improvement centers fans are sold where you get some custom choices these days, but Gulf Coast was the first to offer it and still is the best at it, with over 6500 different fan custom combinations available!
